Dew Tour takes over San Francisco with the Toyota City Championships

Set in the heart of San Francisco, the second stop of the Dew Tour is taking place Thursday through Sunday as the Toyota City Championships.

The four-day event is free to the public and features six events: BMX dirt, BMX street, BMX streetstyle, skate street, skate streetstyle, and FMX.

More than 200 athletes from over 18 countries are confirmed to be competing, and they have their eyes on the coveted Dew Cup, which will be awarded to one winner from each discipline.

The Civic Center Plaza, downtown between City Hall and the Main Library, has been transformed into the ultimate venue for action sports. Courses have been meticulously crafted to rider specifications and will feature action from top competitors including Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Nyjah Huston, Garrett Reynolds, Dennis Enarson, and Ryan Nyquist.

“The level of competition at the San Francisco Dew Tour stop will be amazing. The city has such a special place in skate history, so to be competing there on a course with the iconic San Francisco elements will be a lot of fun,” said Rodriguez, reigning Dew Tour Champion.

In addition to the action on the course, the Dew Tour recently announced that rapper Lil Wayne will make an appearance on Saturday during the skate street finals.

The event will be broadcasted live on NBC at 1:30pm ET / 10:30am PT. Lil Wayne is a street skater himself, so there’s no telling what antics the superstar will display as he announces the action-packed event.
