Legendary freestyle motocross rider Robbie Maddison is at it again, turning a graveyard of old military aircraft in Tucson, Arizona, into his own little freestyle motocross playground. The resulting five-minute video, “Robbie Maddison’s AIR.CRAFT,” features impressive, never-before-seen stunts, including one daring drop from midair, which starts at around the 5:10 mark. Watch and be entertained:
As you can see, Maddison takes a bumpy ride over jet engines lined up side-by-side, jumps over and onto planes and the wings of planes, launches off a set of aircraft passenger stairs, does a backflip over the length of an airplane, jumps onto the back of a moving flatbed truck and pulls off the most daring stunt of all.
A crane lifts a freight container high into the air while Maddison waits to launch from a forward tilting ramp sitting atop the container suspended in midair. Hard to say how far the drop is–50, 60 feet, maybe?–but he hits the landing perfectly, just as you’d expect from Robbie Maddison, stunt rider extraordinaire.
