With just over two weeks to go before the annual kickoff event of the 2013 AMA Supercross Championship series, riders are busy tuning their bikes for the first race of the season at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on Jan. 5. As with many seasons in the past, the all-important West Coast leg (which this year consists of three events in Anaheim and stops in Phoenix, San Diego, and Oakland, California) will serve as a critical step to towards the 2013 crown.
In the latest installment of his YouTube web series “My Way,” two-time AMA Supercross champ and 2009 AMA Outdoor champion Chad Reed puts his 2013 American Honda CRF450R through its paces at his “Compound 22″ in Florida. And a little rain forces him off the bike and on to his cart for some well-needed dirt bike distraction. “Two Two” Chad is one of the favorites to win the 2013 title, along with 2012 champ Ryan Villopoto (who is coming off knee surgery last May) and 2010 champ Ryan Dungey.
