B4BC Host Fifth Annual Skate the Coast

Get your push legs ready as Boarding for Breast Cancer gets set to host an 18-mile longboard-a-thon from Santa Monica Pier to South Redondo Beach.

18 miles on a skateboard is no easy task but with an incentive of skating for a good cause it becomes more attainable. The point of the event is to promote healthy, active lifestyle in support of Breast Cancer Prevention.

We all love breast and we all love women, so let’s do our part to help support the prevention of harm towards them.

The event kicks off in Redondo Beach where the participants meet up to be shuttled to Santa Monica Pier to start the 18-mile long trek. To celebrate the feat of skating 18 miles, there will be a post-party bash with bands, including Spare Parts for Broken Hearts and Seedless, top fundraiser and spirit awards, raffles throughout the afternoon and local supporters from the industry/media.

If you feel capable of skating the 18 miles here’s the link to register. www.active.com/cycling/Santa-Monica-ca/skate-the-coast-2011

Even if you don’t skate, make sure to come by show your support by partying with the crew.

If your still not sold on the event I forgot to mention Pabst Blue is a sponsor for the party so for those of us who are 21, it’s just one more incentive to make it to the finish line.
