Here we have the second installment of Skateboarder magazine’s four-part series “The Killing Season,” which documents a group of pro skaters who traveled nearly the entire length of Vietnam on rented motorbikes. Two of the magazine’s photographers were the brains behind the expedition, and here is how Skateboarder described the experience:
We probably should have intervened when our senior photographer Jonathan Mehring got together with the globetrotting filmmaker Patrik Wallner to concoct some harebrained excursion … especially when they started throwing motorbikes into the mix. But as they say, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward, which is probably why the likes of Jerry Hsu, Keegan Sauder, Joey Pepper, Javier Mendizibal, and Michael “Michi” Mackrodt were game to accompany them on this journey down nearly the entire length of Vietnam, despite their limited experience with riding motorbikes.
Part one is over here, and check Skateboarder for photos from the riders along the road.
