Waiting for Lightning

Danny Way. Not many names in skateboarding carry as much weight or respect, and for good reason.

Way is one of the few people who has taken something as simple as riding a plank of wood and used it to change the world. What began as a mega-ramp fantasy has blossomed into an entirely new sport, bridging the gap between skateboarding and snowboarding, and pushing the limits of what’s possible using just gravity and a skateboard.

This new documentary, Waiting for Lightning, shows us the whole picture, from gromhood in rural Southern California to launching over the Great Wall of China on a mega-ramp.

The film has also been accepted into the 2012 SXSW film festival.
