As winter comes to a close and spring takes hold, we pressed rewind and reviewed the standout moments of the season. Out of the hundreds of shred-tastic events that unraveled this winter, we chose five prominent, progressive moments that will be remembered season after season.

Terje Haakonsen Wins 27th Annual Baker Banked Slalom
17 years ago, Terje Haakonsen won his first Baker Banked Slalom. In February 2012, “The Viking” came back to earn his seventh Baker Banked title. Haakonsen beat out Travis Rice, Josh Dirksen, and other big-time pros by posting the fastest time in the finals and proving that, at 37-years-old, he’s still got it.

Kelly Clark’s 16 Consecutive Halfpipe Wins
For an unprecedented 16 halfpipe events in a row, Vermont-native Kelly Clark stood atop the podium. Clark’s consistency, amplitude, and bag of tricks had the rest of field gunning for her all season. Her streak this season made Clark the winningest woman in snowboard history.

Travis Rice Charging at the Red Bull Supernatural
The Red Bull Supernatural was the most progressive event of the season. Travis Rice, the mastermind behind the event, placed first with his explosive style, fluidity, and technical tricks on the massive course. He also conceived of the event, executed it, and beat out the best riders in the world. Rice earned his spot on our list with snowboarding like the kind in this POV of his winning run.

Hana Beaman Hits the Mt. Baker Road Gap
This season, Hana Beaman proved she is a backcountry badass as she became the first female to hit the legendary Mt. Baker Road Gap. Beaman spent two days sessioning the massive step-down and stomped a 720 while filming for her web-series, P.S.

Shaun White’s Perfect Score
