Caleb Moore’s family raising funds to cover hospital bills

The family of snowmobiler Caleb Moore, who passed away Thursday from injuries sustained in a crash at the Winter X Games a week before, has established a website to raise money for the hospital bills.

“The fans, friends, and family of Caleb Moore are uniting to raise money to help with his hospital bills. Please show your support!” says the intro on the GiveForward website that was written before he passed.

“Caleb Moore is an inspiration to us all and we want to support him and his family so they may stay strong during this difficult time. If you are not familiar with Caleb, he lives life to the fullest. The world knows Caleb as a brilliant freestyle rider, but his family and friends know him as a fun-loving and deeply loyal person. This is our chance to show Caleb and his family how much they mean to us all. Please give forward.”

As of Thursday morning, $26,913 of the stated goal of $300,000 had been raised.

Rotation Management and Chelsea Lawson, previously described as a family spokeswoman, organized the fundraiser and posted it on Tuesday when Caleb was in critical condition. The fundraiser ends May 28.

The website is giveforward.com/calebmoore.
