If you haven’t heard of women’s half pipe rider Elena Hight–this will be the year that you do.

As the first woman to pull of a double cork in the halfpipe, Hight has the tricks, amplitude, and style to pull off multiple wins this year. Though the two-time Olympian is coming back from injury, if all goes well she’ll be in the spotlight for years to come–and the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi is not far off.

During practice for the Dew Tour, which took place last weekend and was the kickoff to the snowboard contest season, Hight took a few minutes to talk about snowboarding style, current musical tastes, and the perfect day. Take a look.
