Putting together a ranked list for a magazine is a complicated process. First you have to figure out all the variables that go into the ranking, and then you have to figure out how to weight the variables so that they will produce the least amount of hate mail from readers. The process can be as hard as proving Parseval’s Theorem from Fourier Analysis–something only Will Hunting can do easily, according to Matt Damon. Given the difficulty in putting together a list, the folks over at Powder magazine fell into a funk when they decided to rank the 32 best places to ski in North America. Luckily, something magical happened one night when they all went home, and the answer to the rankings fell into their laps. Press play below to find out what went down.
