The famed Swiss snowboard film company Absinthe premiered their new movie, “Resonance,” to a rowdy crowd of stoked shredders in Denver last Wednesday.
Snowboard Colorado, a Denver-based magazine, put on the party at Summit Music Hall, and we got in touch with Mike Goodwin, the mag’s managing editor, for the rundown of all the action in this edition of Say Anything. Check out what he had to say.
What was a standout moment from the premiere in Denver?
I was shocked to hear a section from Sleep’s legendary “Dopesmoker” in the beginning of Lucas Debari’s part. Also, the security people (at Summit) were rad! That rarely happens, so that stood out.
What was your favorite part of Absinthe’s “Resonance”?
Bode Merrill’s part was sick. I am going to have to re-watch it though. I can’t say I watched the whole thing. Lots of distractions.
What was the craziest thing you saw at the premiere?
How deep the Gremlinz crew rolled. They all rallied out from Tahoe in a big bus they picked up to show their new flick, “The Refried Batch.” It’s wild. Keep an eye out for it.
There were lots of giveaways from sponsors. What was the best prize, and what did the winner do to get it?
There were a couple of chicks in the front row dumping ‘em out for outerwear. Wasn’t the best dump, I might add. That’s some expensive product there. We need some enthusiasm!
What are you most looking forward to this winter season?
Hitting the road and getting after it. In all sorts of ways.
What premiere is going down this week in Denver?
This coming Wednesday we are showing three videos. “The Miserable Champion,” (Shaun Palmer video), People’s “Pretty Wise,” and Standard’s “2112.” Going to be tight! Come on out!
