“The Art of Flight is like a National Geographic snowboarding safari- nothing short of mind-blowing!” -Randy Torcom, Burton Brand Manager
The most anticipated snowboard film of the year premiered last night to a star-studded, sold out crowd at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. Brain Farm Cinema, Red Bull Media House, Travis Rice and crew changed the perception of snowboard cinematography with the release of The Art of Flight. Over 3,000 snow enthusiasts, pros, and celebrities turned out dressed in their best for the red carpet event.
The two-year followup project to “That’s it, That’s All” had a lot of hype to live up to and initial reactions from last night’s soiree suggest the Art of Flight has successfully accomplished what it set out to do.
Filmed on the best equipment in the game, AOF combines insane cinematography with impressive and inspiring snowboarding. The film documents the trials and triumphs experienced by Travis Rice and other heavy-hitting pros as they journey around the world seeking out the best snow in the most remote locations.
From Alaska to Chile and numerous places in between, the Art of Flight captures the most intense and heart-pounding shredding of all time. Last night, all attendees (including Justin Timberlake) were mesmerized by the visually stimulating shredding that blasted on the big screen. Shots of Travis Rice slaying huge spines in AK immediately gave goosebumps to many members of the crowd, while the entire action-packed production had the audience sitting on the edge of their seats.
The premiere not only melted minds, but also raised the bar for all other shred flicks. Following the movie, the party continued at Stone Rose NYC where the cast and crew indulged in the open bar and reveled in the initial success of the film.
The NYC premiere kicks off a 20-stop tour throughout the US and Canada, followed by a world tour that will span New Zealand, South Korea, and Europe.
