After the show last year in dredging Ballito tubes, the anticipation of this year’s Mr. Price Pro was understandably high. Yet six days into the event, the ocean hasn’t quite delivered. A lack of swell has made competition difficult, especially through the first three days, and paired with webcast issues, those hoping for last year’s viewing spectacle are still waiting for the action to heat up.

Today saw all but the last two heats of the round of 24 run in fun three foot surf at Willard’s Beach. Performance of the day honors went to Brazilian Alejo Muniz who despite a shaky start to his heat would come back with the highest two wave total of the day, 17.17 to advance directly into the round of 16 over Jack Freestone and Sebastien Zietz.

Look for competition to resume at 7:30 am local time.
