As promised, here is even more insane footage from Fiji. This 18-minute short film on last week’s Cloudbreak freesurf comes to us from John Eaves. One of the most amazing things about this historic day was how unexpected it was. Most of the WCT didn’t have boards bigger than 6’8″, and even on the day it arrived, nobody expected ridable waves of that size.

In fact, Eaves, who shot and edited this short, wasn’t even preparing himself to film the session. “I had a ringside seat and just happened to pack my canon 5d that day!” Eaves commented. “It will go down in my memory as the best surfing I have ever seen.”
