Chippa, Otis, and crew surf Cabo

With an abnormally large amount of subtropical weather aiming hurricane swell up the West Coast at obscene angles this season, certain nooks and crannies have been lit up that don’t often see swells of any consequence, and Cabo’s East Cape is possibly the best example.

Sitting tucked up the Baja peninsula in the warm Sea of Cortez sits a stretch of points and beaches with countless setups that lie dormant for most of the year until something sinister creeps its way up and finds the perfect path into the East Cape’s tiny swell window. It’s rare, but this season has been almost non-stop, and recently Aussies Otis Carey, Chippa Wilson, Luke Stedman, Joel Ford, and Thom Pringle headed out into the desert to see for themselves.
