Over the summer SUP the mag traveled to Bear Glacier near Seward, Alaska, to enjoy some majestic paddling, and they documented their adventures in their winter issue, which is on newsstands now. “In a place like Bear Glacier you’ve got huge pieces of ice–five, ten, fifteen stories high. Sometimes they’re as large as a city block, and you’re on this board and it’s silent and quiet there. There are whales and seals and wildlife all around. It’s kind of a mystical place,” said Chris Mautino of Liquid Adventures, an outfitter that helped out SUP magazine while they were paddling through the wild frontier.
