Holland’s premier surf company Protest just sent its team of European wave riders into the Maldives, a small cluster of 26 atolls off the coast of India. In this short film, former WCT warriors Tim Boal and Marlon Lipke, along with Oli Adams, Yannick de Jager, Jatyr Berasaluce, Tristan Guilbaud, and Lars Musschoot set out to explore a vast selection of reef passes. A bit less traveled than the Mentawai Islands, this particular bit of Indian Ocean lacks the punch that Indo is known for, yet makes up for it in playful perfection with some astonishing backdrops. In fact, the Maldives are much more frequently traveled by scuba divers than surfers.
