Dragon’s most recent episode in its “Frame of Mind” series focuses on Florida’s Evan Geiselman, the young goofy foot who has quickly become a standout in the star and prime events, as well as achieved a Justin Bieber-like female fanbase.

The title of the episode is “Paying Dues,” which references Evan’s determination to excel in big surf despite coming from Florida. Evan lost a close heat in round 2 of the U.S. Open to Tim Reyes on Tuesday, but that Evan was surfing at all, and very well at that, is a story in itself.

Early this year he botched a backside air-reverse in Costa Rica, and this left him with a broken ankle that wasn’t expected to heal until at least mid-September. Yet, here we are in early August and Evan’s ready for battle.
