Ireland’s Glenn ‘Micro’ Hall is having himself what’s known as a breakout season. The quick goofyfoot started his year by winning the Hainan Classic in China, a 4-star event and the first of its kind in Chinese waters. He then finished runner-up to Gabe Medina at the Prime rated Nike Lowers Pro in May. Today Glenn one-upped that by raising the 1st place trophy at the Mr. Price Pro Ballito prime over American Nate Curran. Glenn now sits at 16th on the world rankings, the highest placing of his career.
The final saw some of the best conditions of the event at Willard’s Beach, with Hall securing an exciting win in the dying minutes of the 35-minute final.
The action now moves 600 miles west to Jeffreys Bay, where the recently downgraded Billabong Pro is set to begin. The ex-World Tour event is now a 6-star, which will open the doors to a much larger field of talent. The swell forecast is looking stellar and the event should commence July 10.
