Earlier this year a massive storm pushed through the Indian Ocean, sending swell into the far reaches of Indonesia’s enormous archipelago, including a particular island to the north that is home to a few very dangerous reefs, including a right that has been named “the Apocalypse.” This new 16-minute short film chronicles three Aussie hellmen and their quest to surf this deadly and beautiful slab. Dylan Longbottom, Laurie Towner, and Dean Bowen are all renowned for their heavy water antics, and even they are a bit rattled by this wave’s terrifying speed and power.
