During November and December the North Shore of Oahu is transformed into an epicenter for international surfing as the Triple Crown descends on the seven mile miracle. Every pro surfer, camera guy, photog, and groupie is crammed into the beachfront real estate.

However, once the circus has packed up and left town, the locals remain. And the late season North Shore experience becomes far more relaxed while the waves stay just as good– only less crowded. Just how good were the waves this spring? On April 15, Mark Healey tweeted, “Had my best session of the winter at Pipeline this morning…” Apparently spring is the new winter.
