Shipsterns goes XXXXXXXL

photo:chisholm

Just weeks after the beer-soaked confetti from this year’s XXL awards had settled into the recycling bins, a swell from hell slammed into the rock shelf at Shipsterns Bluff in Tasmania. The usual crew of local psycho-paths were on hand to tackle it. There is no way I can describe the photos and video without sounding like an idiot. The shear magnitude of some of these waves is astonishing. The amount of water being catapulted onto the almost-dry stair-step ledges makes me shiver from the comfort of my desk. I cannot believe nobody died. Just watch.
