Australia’s Stephanie Gilmore has just won the Roxy Pro in Biarritz and in doing so secured her fifth Women’s World Title in just six years. Steph rocketed to the number one spot in her 2007 rookie season– a feat still unmatched in pro surfing– and remained there until she was de-throned last year by Hawaiian Carissa Moore. In the offseason leading up to her unsuccessful 2011 season Gilmore was the victim of a random act of violence outside her apartment in Coolangatta. Today, however, Stephanie can put all that in the past as she has once again hoisted the champ’s cup. Quiksilver put together this clip to congratulate Steph on her 2012 campaign.
