With the ever shrinking world around us offering fewer and fewer moments of solitude, the adventurous are traveling farther and farther in order to find empty coastlines and untouched waves.
One such expedition headed by Surfer magazine photographer Chris Burkhard and writer Ben Weiland recently explored the rugged shores of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. Surfers Keith Malloy, Trevor Gordon, Dane Gudauskas, and Cyrus Sutton made up the crew of wave riders. A great little short film on the trip can be seen here, and Chris’ full photo gallery can be found here, in addition to Surfer’s January issue, which includes a feature on the trip.
