In January, Taj Burrow left Firewire Surfboards to experiment with new shapers and designs. It’s now February and Taj is sitting at number one in the world after clinching the season’s first event, the Quiksilver Gold Coast Pro, on a batch of fresh Mayhem shapes by California’s Matt Biolos.

Of course, Taj has been playing the field, too. He’s also sampled sleds from James ‘Chilli’ Cheal and Christiaan Bradley, just to name a few.

This clip shows Taj’s pre-Snapper trip to visit Biolos in San Clemente, where he test drove Mayhems at Lowers for the upcoming season.
