Video: Surfer Matt Pagan aims to put Los Angeles on the map

Ever since Gidget, The Beach Boys, and Mickey Dora thrust Malibu, California, into the spotlight in the ’60s, Los Angeles County has lost its place as a surf culture epicenter, with much of the attention and surfing industry now residing just south in Orange County. Besides Alex Gray and Dillon Perillo, very few names have emerged from Los Angeles’ surf scene on to the world stage in recent years.

Matt Pagan, one of LA’s rising surf stars, along with his cinematographer brother, Mike, are aiming to put LA back on the surfing map. They’ve just unveiled their new website, One4LA, along with a nice highlight clip showing Pagan along with friends Matt Mohagen and Cheyne Magnusson sampling the finest surf the City of Angels has to offer.
