Words with Mick Fanning

Michael Eugene Fanning currently sits at #2 on the World Tour, and is very much in the title hunt. He’s only 1450 points behind Joel Parkinson, but chances are Mick isn’t thinking about all that at the moment. At least, he’s trying not to.

“That’s the secret to being on tour: being able to switch on and off,” Mick concluded in an interview with Surfer Mag from Namotu Island. “If you can’t switch off, you burn out.”

Mick is of course talking about the mindset that being a professional surfer requires, a topic which he also tackles in a new video/interview series from Dragon, entitled Frame of Mind. You get the feeling that Mick has been able to learn from his triumphs and failures, and really put things into proper perspective.
