Gorkin gets high, on his surfboard. His major surf world introduction cam in the Lost video "Lost Across America Vol. II," where he read an old Kelly Slater interview, with bong in view, and made fun of it. The stoney Floridaian's part however was sick, highlighted by the first made "Gorkin Flip," a backside double grab inverted 360 air. The first legit flip ever landed, and he did it in a contest.
Gorkin since then has been one of the premier aerialists in the world, mixing all sorts of above-the-lip combinations into his video sections. He has also cleaned up his ways, which can be attributed to his girlfriend, and is now riding for RVCA.
His competitive surfing has also improved. Gorkin has been X Games MVP, won the WRV Outer Banks Pro and the East Coast surfing Championships. Aaron Cormican has the whole package and is someone you don't want to surf a heat against at a small beach break.
