Biography

In December 2005, Alberto won the first day of the Whistler FIS World Cup, the first win of his career and one of only a handful of podiums since he started boardercross in 2002. This injury prone Italian competed at the 2004 Winter X Games with a broken foot, and then an injured shoulder in 2005. He comes to WX 10 fresh off an injured left shoulder from December.
The busiest man in SBX, Alberto is the European team manager for Rossignol in addition to a competitive snowboarder. He is an Olympic hopeful who will likely be a member of Italy's Olympic team. WX '05 will be his 3rd Winter X Games. At WX 2004 he competed with a broken left foot, which he broke again in summer '04.
Alberto is one of the busiest men in snowboarding. Between being a member of the Italian National Team, following the FIS tour and running his own snowboard development company, he rarely has free time. He had strong but unlucky start to the 2004 season, with an 8th place finish at the World Cup in Whistler, BC, despite breaking his left foot mid-race.
