Featured in Flip Skateboard's 2002 video release, Sorry.He has a pro shoe with Etnies which features the thinnest cupsole from Etnies with G2 gel.On March 6, 2007 Boulala was the rider of a motorcycle in a fatal accident that killed Flip Skateboards amateur Shane Cross and put Boulala in a coma.Shane Cross's parents have also decided to not press charges, they just want Ali to live life normally.As of June 8 Flip website announced that Ali is making good progress in his recovery. After leaving the PTA (post traumatic amnesia) ward he has been able to walk unassisted to his bathroom, where he showers with staff assistance. He partakes in physical therapy on a daily basis, each day becoming stronger and stronger. The hospital has even given Ali an electric wheelchair to assist in longer journeys around the hospital.Flip website announced that Ali has now been upgraded to an out patient. As of Sunday the 24th of June Ali has been staying in his new apartment just around the corner from the hospital. He will be cared for by his girlfriend and will have doctor visits throughout the week. He will still be reporting to the hospital for physiotherapy three times a week. Ali is walking completely unassisted and was last seen at Ikea in Melbourne purchasing Swedish meatballs.
