As long as I can remember, KTM has bounced in and out of the premier class (what I used to call the 250) which is now called the 450 class in supercross. Names like former Factory KTM rider Cliff Palmer start to pop up, yet who can forget about Lance Smail, who became the first rider to put a four-stroke into the main event back in 1997. He was aboard a 540cc Katoom built by Tom Moen.

2005 Short won the Houston round of the AMA 125cc West Region Supercross series and earned four additional series podium finishes... Raced select AMA 250cc Supercross events, best result 7th at Orlando, Fla... A front-runner in the AMA 125cc Motocross Championship, he claimed an overall victory at Millville, Minn., and earned five additional overall podium finishes... Raced with American Honda team.

2004 Short raced in the AMA 125cc West Region Supercross series, earning three top-five finishes... Raced a limited AMA 250cc Supercross season, earning four top-10 finishes...
