Take a look at any footage of Finch riding pipe or big air and you’ll understand. He’s willing and able to push himself as far as he can go to the point just before injury. And he does this simply for the love of going big and progressing his riding.Originally from Fresno, California and currently residing in Truckee, California, Andy Finch claims Shawn Farmer as the first pro rider to which he looked for inspiration. Learning to ride at age 12, Andy poured over videos and magazines, soaking in as much of the snowboard culture as he could. He started competing in events during his high school years, but as soon as high school was over, he hit the road and he hasn’t looked back since.A member of the 2006 US Olympic snowboard team and strong competitor on the Swatch TTR World tour, the 07/08 season promises to be a good one. Finch already has a TTR Title under his belt placing first in the Half Pipe at the TTR Four (4) Star Garnier Fructis Australian Open 2007. He also placed in the top ten, finishing fourth in the Slope Style at the same event. However, in Davos Switzerland Andy proved he's a transition master, taking home the Halfpipe Title at the SIX(6)STAR O'Neill Evolution.Andy’s 07/08 season continued to rock with over 11 weeks in the TTR Top 10 and even hitting TTR World No. 1, Andy currently sits in 4th and is still after the TTR Tour Title. Following his success at the O’Neill Evolution, Finch moved on to Laax where we would finish 5th in the Halfpipe, going big like he always does. His season continued with an Invitation to the 6-Star Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo, Norway. Andy finished 6th in the prestigious Quarterpipe battle of champs after sticking his insane BS Airs and chuckflips that had the crowd gasping in shock.Following his Norwegian adventures, Finch went on to bag three more Halfpipe results from top events that included the 5-Star World Superpipe Championships in Park City, Utah, the 5-Star Cehvy Grand Prix in Killington, Vermont, and finally ending his 07/08 season at the 6-Star Burton US Open in Stratton, Vermont, USA.
