    Pipe Maters
Alright, so I'm checking in a litte late today, it was a blurry day and a really blurry night for me. I guess Slates still has his pact with the Devil, and he made it obvious yesterday. The magic number was six three times. As in six Pipe Masters titles, six WCT wins this year, and he made it all happen on a six foot board. Ok, I rounded up, it was a 5'11", I was just trying so hard to find a third six and just couldn't.

In some dirty, dirty 8 to 10 foot waves (the water turns brown here when it rains a lot because of all the runoff) Kelly Slater took out Chris Ward on that 5'11" at solid Pipe. Ward surfed great all day making heats against last year's Pipe Masters and Triple Crown winner, Bede Durbidge, and two years ago's Pipe and Triple Crown champ, Andy Irons. If he would have won, he would of also won the Triple Crown, and been this year's Pipe and Triple Crown champ. Slater was just too much in the Final though, posting a prefect 10 and a 9 something.

Ward, told me after the contest at the new Volcom house, that Kelly just got that one good one, and that he passed on couple at the beginning that he should have gone on. He said he got a "taste," and now he's more motivated than ever.

I think the best part of the event was watching Darren Crawford's amazing dance skills, during the disco dance session at the new Volcom house, which got going after Valient Thorr wrapped up their show at the old Volcom house. Stay tuned for pictures of the Thorr guys rocking the house.

Check out the photo above of the view from the Volcom house and shots below of: Slater doing a pre-final interview, Kala and Bruce showing their support for Kamalei, who made a pretty good run, and Andy Irons letting loose and watching the Final.
