Simpson is one of California's most talked about up and comers, not to mention the pride of Huntington Beach, A.K.A. Surf City USA. After a solid run as a junior, Brett's been clawing his way up the WQS ladder for the past several seasons. In his first season in the pro ranks he won "Rookie of the Year" honors at the Hawaiian Triple Crown, making the final in big surf at Haleiwa. But he was dealt a pretty big blow in 2008 after he slid out of big league contention late in the season and just missed the cut. This year, Simpson is doing all he can to correct that. His upset win at the Hurley U.S. Open will certainly help his cause.

He's made it onto the ASP tour for the 2010 season and is already a talked about name on the tour as one of the rookies able to upset the older guard of the tour.
