San Diego's Brian Conley is quite a unique character in the surf world. Unlike the majority of young aspiring pro surfers, he has shunned the contest scene and turned his attention to freesurfing, and more specifically, hunting giant tubes around the world. About

Known mostly as a freesurfer, Brian chases swells year-round all over the world. He's even rigged his Ford Diesel F350 truck to accommodate his surfing travels. He calls the modified machine--the Hurricane Hunter. Brian spends a lot of time in Puerto, which is one of the reasons he was selected as a member of the West Coast's line up for the first time in 2006. Brian made the cover of both Transworld and Surfer in 2003, and he frequently films his own surfing with a POV camera.
