About
Corey has posted numerous superpipe podiums in his short span as a pro. It started in 2004 when he won the superpipe at the Vermont Freeski Open, then in 2005 he podiumed at three of biggest superpipe contests of the year: the US Open in Vail, CO (3rd), Gravity Games in Copper, CO (1st), and the FIS World Halfpipe Championships in Ruka, Finland (3rd). While Corey has had more competition success in superpipe, he actually prefers slopestyle and he is a strong technical rider on both the rails and the jumps. He will compete in both at WX 2006
Corey Vanular (17) is a new name to WX, and he is the youngest skier currently on the roster for WX '05. A junior at Carrabassett Valley Academy in Sugarloaf, ME, Corey is part of a growing contingent of East Coast skiers who have been doing well on the comp scene. While Corey says he prefers slopestyle, his fist major podium came in superpipe when he won the Vermont Freeski Open in 2004.
