Ok, before we start talking X Games Big Air, let’s get one thing out of the way, BIG AIR IS CRAZY and the guys that do it are out of their minds. Nestled inside of Staples Center, the Mega Ramp has a giant roll in, if you safely make the drop, you then get to choose either a 50ft or 70ft gap to clear, those who successfully clear the gap are greeted with a 27ft quarter pipe. It’s hard to truly appreciate the massiveness of the ramp until you see it in person. The mega ramp has a..

  • About

Danny Way is one of those skateboarders that anybody should know. If you learned about the Great Wall of China in history class, you should also know that Danny Way 360'd over that... with a broken ankle. If you like vert riding, you should know he dominated the event in the 90s and early 2000s. He won the new X-games event, BIG AIR, in 2004, 2005, 2006 and took silver in 2008.

Danny Way would probably be considered one of the most fearless skateboarders of our time to have experimented and make known the dangerous thrills of megaramp or big air skating. Danny Way also holds the fastest land speed record on a skateboard, as if the tricks aspect wasn't enough to his repertoire. He holds the longest ramp to ramp jump at 79 feet and the highest air at 23.5 feet, how they measured that half I have no idea. he wouldn't stop there as he holds records for highest fast plant, highest christ air, and highest mctwist (probably to make it harder on any challengers). He holds the record of largest bomb drop, dropping into a ramp from a ledge, or in this case cliff, at 24 feet by dropping off the Hard Rock Guitar in 2006.

Several DC video parts of him completely rewrite skateboarding and what's possible on over sized ramps... that's a lot for a loving husband and father.

Hey Danny, John Trimble here. Wow! thats crazy that you lived in Portland at one time. I'm living here now. The weather is insane, but the scenery is pretty awesome.Good to see you're still skating. when you have the time, check out the 6 minute skate vid on my profile here at GrindTV I compiled about a year ago. Keep ripping.
