The Red Bull World Series 2008 with its new locations and big tracks initially posed a challenge for the young Spaniard. Dany was used to always gaining the upper hand on the small tracks of the traditional bullfighting areas, but his difficulties in Rio and the crash in Texas forced him to practice harder at adapting to the big tracks. This hard work paid off and at the end of the Tour he was ready to grab victory at the season finale in Warsaw, as well as claiming 2nd in the overall standings thanks to his run of top 5 results.
