A member of the infamous 'Cooly Kids', Morrison lets his surfing speak for itself, and even though he's been competing on the ASP World Tour since 2002, he still infuses a fresh, progressive approach that is constantly pushing the boundaries of high-performance surfing. This comes as no surprise to Morrison's mentor and current ASP President Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew. According to Rabbit, "He goes on surf trips within surf trips, on top of surf trips, and in between surf trips. I once made the prediction that Dean will have surfed more perfect barrels than any human being in history and he is definitely on track." Morrison is a regular fixture in the latter rounds of elite tour events, and with a win at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast in 2002, the Dingo certainly knows where the winner's podium is. In 2008, Morrison unfortunately missed several events due to a hip injury (but still managed a few sea-faring adventures while out of competition). The months out of the water will surely be a motivating factor as Morrison rages on in 2009. | ||||||||||||||
