  • Polar Opposites: Crashes

Bail edits will win every time. People relish in watching other people eat it - it's a fact of life. On that note, thank the heavens for DC's Iikka Backstrom & Devun Walsh. They've just posted the full-on crash section from their year-long video and blog project, "Polar Opposites".

Why is this amazing, besides the fact that it's people falling over and over again, you might ask? Because these guys go huge, that's why and that results in huge bails.

This project has been a major success so far - teaming up these two particular pros was genius in my book and on top of all that goodness, DC pros Lonnie Kauk and Lauri Heiskari make appearances.

So while you're waiting for the finished full length product (set to release at the beginning of the season), take some time and revel in the carnage that was inevitable in the making of this film.

  • Polar Opposites 3: DC's Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom

The third and final Polar Opposites episode has hit web and it's clear that DC's Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom saved the best for last.

DC teammates Lauri Heiskari and Lonnie Kauk team up with the dynamic duo and the crew sets off into the Whistler backcountry. From big booters, steep couloirs and rock jumps packed with powder, this episode has it all.

The Polar Opposites web series follows Devun and Iikka as they travel around the world with their friends, filming some of the best snowboarding going down in the game today.

Aside from the videos, the PolarOpp.com website features behind-the-scenes photos and stories from the pros' adventures on and off the mountain. Most recently, Devun and Iikka headed to Las Vegas with the DC Snow and Moto teams to take part in an autograph signing, before flying up to Mt. Bachelor, Oregon for Snowboarder magazine's annual mega-session, Superpark 15.

Stay tuned for summer updates and a full-length Polar Opposites video edit at the beginning of next season.

  • Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom in Polar Opposites

Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom don't want to make you wait until teaser season to see what they've been up to this year.

These friends and DC teammates have been busy working on a new project so you can get an eyeful of the goods they've been getting this season, right now.

"Polar Opposites" is a new web series that follows these super shreds all around as they bust out into the backcountry in search of epic pow and pillows. These guys have been around the block a time or two and are serious riders who push each other day in and out.

The first episode of Polar Opposites highlights the determination of these dudes and reaffirms that Devun and Iikka are badass snowboarders.

DC pro snowboarders Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom have teamed up on a new project and webisode series called "Polar Opposites" launching today, Monday, February 28th. This much anticipated project will give an up close and personal look into the daily lives of two of snowboarding's best through a blog written by Devun and Iikka along with four webisodes featuring all new footage from the duo this season. The first of four video edits is now live so be sure to check it out at: http://www.polaropp.com.

In the tradition of some of the greatest duo's in sports and entertainment, Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom have teamed up to bring the public an close and personal look into their lives over the course of a season - from filming in the backcountry to traveling the world. These friends and DC teammates have been shooting together for various projects for a better part of a decade. From movies such as That, Double to Decade, and In Color they've been through season after season of from injuries, hangovers, weather delays, FT's, and perfect bluebird days and have managed to bring you some damn fine snowboarding along the way.

Devun and Iikka's relationship is an interesting one. They are, as the name of their project states, polar opposites. The formula for their friendship is a scientific anomaly, similar to the physics that makes opposites attract. But much like oil and vinegar, two things that have no business on the same plate, they just work. There are some things that just belong together even if it really makes no sense.

  • Remembering Billy Mays Infomercials with DC Snowboards

    News and Blog Photos

Man, these celebrities have been dropping like flies. First Ed, then Farrah and MJ, and now Billy Mays.

For those of you who don't quite remember Billy Mays right off the bat, just think back to the last time you woke up on the couch to blaring infomercials after falling asleep watching Late Night. Yeah, that obnoxious guy selling OxiClean and Mighty Mend-It... that is Billy Mays.

Awhile back DC Snowboards actually hired Billy Mays to help them sell stuff. They turned out pretty funny. Check out the infomercial spoofs below. It's our small way of paying tribute and saying thanks to Billy Mays.
