Dion Agius: I was born in Tasmania in 1985 on the east coast in a town called Scamanda. And I grew up there until I was twelve years old just with my mom, dad, and sister on 100 acres, and had horses, motorbikes, and the whole deal. We used to ride around on our motos in our quiet little country town and didn’t surf. I moved from there when I was 12 to south Australia, a place called Sterling, up in the hills that is an hour inland from the beach and went to school there and was a little nerd. Then I took up boogie boarding because one of my best friends was a bodyboarder and he said, “Hey, try this,” so I started bodyboarding with him. My dad was surfing all the time, but I just never got into it. I started doing boogie contests and everything. I got so f-king into it, like el rolos, you name it, spinners. I got a shot run in a bodyboarding mag, I was frothing. I was on my way to becoming Mike Stewart.
