Every mountain has a local that kills it day in and day out without much care for what the weather is, who’s watching, or what the current trend is. Greg Bokenkamp is one of those riders. His home mountain of Mammoth’s park is like Hollywood, but as the latest and greatest pipe ballerinas are chucking their new double chucks, Greg is silently blasting huge straight airs over their heads lapping the pipe and park and scoring first tracks on secret pow stashes with his friends. Last season Greg returned to Vermont and scored first in the infamous World Quarterpipe Championships, much to the delight of the local rowdy crowds. Greg’s passion for snowboarding is undeniable as he waits tables at night to pay for his trips to the backcountry, so if you see him in Mammoth say what up or more importantly leave him a good tip.
