Ian Walsh is truly a complete surfer. He has the ability from 2-70 feet and has the A game. He is technical with his airs and launch with the best of them. He is also a standout performer out at thundering Jaws. When he paddles out at Backdoor Pipe he will pull into heaving pits that many just won't go.

Ian is from the Island of Maui and gets every condition from perfect Honolua, rippable Pavilion's, to giant Jaws. That is partly the reason for his success on all disciplines, but the real reason is his passion and appetite for surfing. He loves to charge and he pushes himself to get the biggest waves or sickest barrel.

He has strong competitive background and would have a extremely good chance at qualifying for the WCT, if he chose too. Ian placed runner up on in Billabong's XXL Event of 2003 being towed into a recorded 68 foot beast. He won the XCEL WQS 3 Star Event at Sunset in 05 and placed third the previous year. He placed third at the Monster Energy Pro WQS 4 Star at 10-15 Pipeline in 06. His performances of late have him gracing the pages of Transworld, Surfer, and Surfing. His versatility is his strongest asset and where ever he wants to go-he will. He has great attitude and is a true professional athlete with drive and ambition that will have him in the game for a long time to come.
