Ivan Tedesco had a forgettable weekend, that's for sure. It's a bummer for him because a bike issue prevented him from really getting a feel for the track in that first shortened session, which meant he had to go out there with zero lead time and put in a solid lap in the qualifying period later on. That's tough, because there's not much time to get things dialed and, with a bad qualifying spot, gate pick suffers and... well... things often go downhill from there. Notice there's no sponsor logos on Ivan's jersey and helmet here? One Industries got permission from his other supporters for IT to run base gear for opening ceremonies so that they could at least get a few shots of him in it for their own use. That's relatively unheard of, and very cool for Rockstar, etc. to agree to it.
It was an off weekend for Ivan Tedesco. After bike trouble in the first practice of the day (which he never completed an entire lap of), he was a little freaked out all day and never at any point seemed to jibe with the track. As evidenced here by his lack of goggles, he quite possibly just threw them off in frustration (that’s just a guess) as he floundered mid-pack. But hey, his David Bailey-inspired gear sure did look cool didn’t it? Ivan will be back next week, rest assured.
Ivan The Excellent. Tedesco's doing well this year. He's RIGHT THERE, itching and pushing for that final podium spot, and apparently happier and healthier than he's been in a long time. Ivan was the middle man between the leaders and the chasers at Phoenix, ending up 4th in the Main and is now sitting 6th in points.
