She finished 1st in the 2003 World Snowboard Rankings for slopestyle, and was TransWorld Snowboarding's Female Rider of the Year in 2004. The Bend, OR, local is known for her progressive, aggressive riding, huge 540 variations, and Cab 720s, but '06 WX may be the one chance spectators get to see her moves -- it's the only contest Janna plans to enter this season, preferring instead to work on her freeriding skills. Janna was named 2004 Female Rider of the Year in the Transworld Snowboarding Rider's Poll. She won Slopestyle gold in her last two WX appearances (WX'03, '04) and took silver at WX'02. To top it off Janna won every contest (5 out of 5) which she entered during the 2004 season. Going into WX'05 Janna is fighting back from a serious knee injury and (3 subsequent surgeries) which she suffered while skateboarding in Mar. '04. Her aggressive approach to technical switch spins, variations on rails and flawless BS 360s earned Janna the Slopestyle silver medal at WX '02, the gold at WX '03 and the '03 #1 ranking in WSF Slopestyle. She is now in position for a Slopestyle three-peat in 2004.
