An art student at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, Jason is on the U.S. Snowboarding team for the third year. With motocross in his veins, SBX is a perfect fit for the burly Aspen native. At WX 2005, Jason just missed the podium, finishing 4th after falling victim to Nate Holland's crash in the final. He did make one podium and a silver medal during the 2004/5 season, Gravity Games. Jason is on the US Olympic Team for Snowboard Cross.
Aspen native Jason Smith was named to the US Snowboard Team for 2005 after placing in the top 30 FIS overall rankings (30th). WX '05 will be his 3rd Winter X Games, although he has never made the final in SBX. His best WX finish was 6th in UltraCross with skiing partner Darin McBeath in 2003. Jason is also an art student and ski technician.
Jason is an Aspen native wtih two Winter X Games under his belt ('01 and '02). He had his best WX finish of 6th in the '03 UltraCross with partner Darin McBeath, but has never made the final in SBX. When he's not snowboarding, Jason is a student and ski technician at Snowmass Sports in Colorado.
An Aspen local and a new face on the boardercross scene, Jason won the 2001 FIS boardercross race in Steamboat Springs, CO during his third and final year on the Junior National Team. He also competes in Slalom, Parallel Slalom, Halfpipe, and GS. He is completely devoted to the sport and has chosen boardercross as a way to break into the pro scene.
