More time for ice hockey? I dunno. Jay Miron has sold Macneil BMX and Ten Pack Distribution to has partners Darcy and Jamie. Jay is moving on from BMX which is a bummed because he was one of the cooler dudes keeping it real in the "sport". But I'm sure he'll do something else that's awesome so good luck to him and whatever he decides to do next.

    Jay's words from Macneil:

"I have some pretty big news to announce. I have sold MacNeil Bikes, and Ten Pack Distribution..

  • Biography

Jay Miron is a legend of BMX (not to make him feel old or anything) and you cannot deny his impact on the sport between contests, upping the level of tricks, and starting his own company (Macneil Bicycles).

When the X games introduced dirt jumping for the first time, Jay Miron won that event. He has compiled quite a list of contest wins including X Games medals through his competitive era of riding. They do not call him The Canadian Beast for no reason. He took riding with an aggressive go for it attitude. He has always had that towards everything and I think that's why he has become a staple in the BMX community.

He is also well known for riding every discipline of BMX, from vert ramp to flatland. He loves BMX and I'm pretty sure has felt that way since the moment he started pedaling on his own. With countless X Games, Gravity Games, and various other BMX contest first and second place finishes, he has hit every aspect of BMX from contest, to filming, to owning a company, and helping out the young kids of BMX (google You're A Man Now Son Macneil BMX Contest).

He was the brain behind Red Bull's Elevation dirt jumping contest, known to be the most prestigious dirt jumping contest ever. Jay kinda saw contests as limited considering they gave the riders 3 jumps max, and sometimes less, to do tricks. In Elevation you hit a down hill course of BIG sets and it is a trail with turns and everything that is probably over 10 sets long. Now THAT is a damn jumping contest.

Cool fact: Jay is one of the few BMX riders featured on MTV's Cribs to show off his apartment in Vancouver.
