Bullhead, Arizona resultsAll the guys finally showed up for the main event on sunday. With a large list of pro riders signed up for pro wakeboard the riders decided to put all the money on the boat. With over 2,000 dollars for 1st place and a set of brand new rims the battle was on for the win. Randal Harris and Ricky Gonzalez were already qualified into the final 6. Young west coast local Jacob Valdez was on point for his run landing everything clean and into the flats. The boat wake suffered from the current of the colorado river and kept most of the riders from going as big as possible. A new west coast transplant Jeff Weatherall also rode well behind the Epic wakeboard boat. The final was set and the riders knew what had to be done to go home with the prize. Randal Harris fell on some unfamiliar falls and left the door open for the rest of final to take the win. Jacob Valdez had another stand up run stomping everything before Jeff Weatherall rode. Jeff was the final rider of the 6 man final and ended once again performing well. Jeff Weatherall took home the prize followed by Jacob Valdez and Ricky G. The wakeskate winch jam was easier said then done. The strong current made for complications with the winch and the speed. The riders all had 3 passes on the rail set up that included a flat bar and incline rail. Nick Taylor went out and stomped a boardslide to back 180 out of the incline and a boardslide front big out on the incline. Ben Horan was the final rider and knew exactly what needed to be done. Going out and nose sliding the entire incline clean and stomping a nose slide back 270 out of the flat bar. Ben Horan was able to beat out Nick and take home 1,000 dollars. All the riders had a great time and a fun time in Nevada. The plans for next year Riverfest are already in motion and already bigger and badder. Channels: More |
