| AboutAfter the much-hyped WCT 'somewhere in Mexico' earlier this year, there's been a mass exodus of pro surfers to the area, and most have come back disappointed that it wasn't endless gaping tubes like the world tour scored. But Florida up and comer Jensen Callaway went down to the area in June with the Billabong team and coach Mike 'Snips' Parsons and scored what he called, 'the best waves I've ever seen.' Callaway got an early start in surfing, standing up on his first wave at just six years old, with the support of his father, Rob. It wasn't long before he was turning heads and winning East Coast trophies, and two years back Callaway rung up a fifth place at the NSSA Easters in open men's. Competitive accolades are great, but earning a spot on a marquee trip to Mexico's fabled right pointbreaks with the Billabong elite is reserved for only the most promising of the team. They lucked into some incredible surf, but he learned a ton, too. And now the real test begins: with Callaway looking move into the pro ranks, it's time to apply all that knowledge and talent to some WQSes and the Pro Junior circuit. How will he fare? There's no doubt it's tough out there, but if his trajectory thus far is any indication, look for Callaway to be putting some deep notches in his belt out in the big leagues.
