| Dennis Enarson's Team Wins Nike 6.0's "The Pool" If I was a judge at this event I may have just quit halfway through. The teams were so diversely talented and absolutely bringing it. In the end, I suppose Chad Kerley pretty much won this event for Team Enarson with some of the most ridiculous runs of the event, including a nose manual on the frighteningly high sub box. I think Harry Main's team would have won through overall impression if I were judging. Every rider on it did absolute bangers.Other stand out riders were Chase Hawk and Bas Keep blasting everything and bringing the best styles to the course. Pat Casey, Michael Beran, and Kyle Baldock brought some of the most technical and difficult tricks to The Pool. Drew Bezanson just killed everything as per usual and did one of the biggest wallrides of the night, but not the best. Best trick goes to Brian Foster's quarter to curved wallride without any loss of speed or style. The Blue Falcon lives on! As well as those accolades, there was the overall best rider which went to Dennis Enarson as voted on by the riders. What can you say? He IS the champ. Also was the best lines team, which basically refers to most creative ways to ride the environment, and this went to Ruben Alcantara's team that did a train consisting of Tom Dugan, Sergio Layos, Kevin Kalkoff, and Ruben himself. 1. Dennis Enarson, Chad Kerley, Jeremiah Smith, Josh Harrington 2. Drew Bezanson, Pat Casey, Michael Beran, Rob Wise 3. Harry Main, Alex Coleborn, Kyle Baldock, Ben Wallace 4. Bas Keep, Chase Hawk, Bruno Hoffmann, Dan Lacey 5. Garrett Reynolds, Sean Sexton, Paul Ryan Channels: Bike 9 New DC Pros! Including Brett BanasiewiczApparently DC wants to build a bigger BMX program. If adding nine riders to the pro team points to something like that. The riders are Ryan "Biz" Jordan, Brad Simms, Kelly Bolton, Alfredo Mancuso, Craig Mast, Anthony Napolitan, Mike "Hucker: Clarke, Jeremiah Smith, and former Etnies rider Brett Banasiewicz. Some are former flow/am DC riders and some are completely new guys, but this move is huge no matter what. 9 riders. Getting paychecks that they may not have been getting before. (Here's a photo of most of the original DC guys.) ![]() Channels: Bike Brett Banasiewicz wins 2010 DK Dirt CircuitI only made the connection now, as I wrote out the title, that it's weird to win an event put on by your major sponsor. But, I guess it's like Garrett Reynolds winning the Nike 6.0 Open or something. Regardless, you know he earned it and that there weren't any shenanigans of sorts within the judging. Here's another contest, like Dew Tour Portland, where some unsuspecting jumps were brutally destroyed by Brett Banasiewicz front flipping them and such. His runs were wild. Cashrolls, front flip ETs, back flips, triple tailwhips. The kid is SERIOUSLY a video game character. And a Justin Bieber look alike, made clear by the music coordinators at the event... Jeremiah Smith is still killing it. Second place with an onslaught of technical maneuvers like 360 superman seatgrabs and barspin and tailwhip variations everywhere. In third place is Rob Armour, who laid out a frontflip superman and a 720 and a myriad of other bangers to beat some of the best dirt riders in the world. There's your top 3! It's not just the general skill level going up, it's also the diversity of riders increasing. You got dudes doing 720 variations and front flip variations, and you got guys doing unique lines and technical tricks on the ground. You have to take all these styles of riding the course and put them together to score something... Yeah, hard. ![]() Daniel Dhers took the number one spot with a run full of trick after trick. All of them accentuated with height and that flair he has. Tailwhips flaired out all weird and spins all corked and all. 2nd, Brett Banasiewicz had a few ugly landings but so did Dhers and Brett came a hair below Dhers. Flair whips all day, front flip and 360 variations, all dialed in. 3rd, Andy Buckworth may have taken the win in my heart for sheer innovative ability. Backflip handplant on spine, frontflip superman, with flair whips and 900s? How do you judge this stuff? The rest of the field went like this: 4. Drew Bezanson 5. Mark Webb 6. Dennis Enarson 7. Mike Spinner 8. Garrett Reynolds 9. Jeremiah Smith 10. Dave Mirra Craig Mast & Vince Byron didn't ride. ![]() photos courtesy of allisports.com Channels: Bike 2010 Wendy's Invitational Park QualifyingThirty two riders (that's a lot) in the park qualifying and only nine will advance to ride against the pre-qualified riders that are Mike Spinner, Daniel Dhers, and Garrett Reynolds. The breakdown goes like this: ![]() Drew Bezanson looks to be back on his rampage. Qualifying first in park, he threw down in typical Drew fashion with unique lines and an enormous footjam. 2nd, Craig Mast (wearing a not full face helmet...) blasted some huge tricks on the huge sub box and stomped several whip, spin, and flip variations. 3rd, Brett Banasiewicz did the golden child thing with every difficult trick dialed in one run. 4th, Andy Buckworth went huge with back and front flip variations including a backflip handplant over the spine. 5th, Dennis Enarson brought the big, unique transfers and lines that are peppered with bangers. 6th, Mark Webb simply brought it with a mix of technical, lower tricks and higher banger tricks. 7th, Jeremiah Smith brought the quick, technical tricks one after the other. Vert master Vince Byron brought it to the park and qualified 8th place with a slew of difficult tricks, namely a huge 540 whip. Closely following him is Dave Mirra grabbing the last qualifying spot with huge use of the course and big spin transfers. Will Bezanson get back on course for "Drew Thousand and Ten"? Or will the current park champions retain their titles on the Dew Tour? photos courtesy of allisports.com Channels: Bike | ||||||||||||
